Does anyone know of any organisation that is using AI in functional skills (English and Maths) assessment (adults)? Extensive searches reveal no products or services on the market which leverage AI in the context of assessing adults' basic skills. I have found some products which claim to be 'adaptive', but only to the extent that questions are drawn from a question database based on what the user has selected or entered on previous question sets.
What happens when you automate math assessment is that the process itself can intimidate the students/job applicants.
The 4-th item in Andrei Zacharov's list is a huge bottleneck, which potentialize the fear factor.

After University position my friend was hired in one of Oil&Gas Company. She asked me about possibility of development of a system of assessing adults' skills.
They were going to develope it by themselves or to order.
There was the requirements:
1) scheduling - e.g. June 1-3 every worker in every unit should be tested
2) distributed system - even if there is no internet connection (for example near the oil well), the tests should be done
3) security (personal data should be secured)
4) protection from hackers, employees, managers - the results were the keys for salary setting.
