Dear Iqbal Hossain Moral , your background is in teaching and learning, pedagogy. Is there where your fundamental questions in life come from? Is there where you find your passion? If not try to find that out. And then sharpen your tools (research methods and techniques) and make sure your toolbox is well-filled. Math is essential, make sure you have a good command of it. And then: practice, practice. Practice make perfect. And look for partners and mentors, look for an environment where you can do research. And keep learning, be curious, starting from asking questions to find things out. Cultivate the pleasure to finding things out (Richard Feynman). Good luck.

The answer to this question is contingent upon your background. If you are planning to do your research via university for MPhil or PhD degree, then think of completing the coursework. It is an orientation program that will equip to jumpstart your research journey in the desired manner.

If you want to do research independently, then you must get yourself acquainted with the research methodology along with philosophy and various paradigms in use.

Further, most of the things depend on your research question. So, you must be aware of the entire research process, which starts with the identification of a research problem. After that, it moves on to the literature review stage, where you narrow down your research question based on research gaps. Then, you prepare your research design. Based on the research design, you collect your data collection and do data analysis. Finally, you report your findings.

Knowledge of your domain knowledge is exceptionally essential. Overall, you need to do a lot of reading and reading and smart reading.

I think a new researcher should begin by doing literature review, just like I did. Literature review allows us to comprehend what is going on in our field of research such the research questions, approaches, methods, procedures and data, along with strength and weakness of earlier research. Accordingly, we may determine how we can contribute in expanding the knowledge in that field of research.

In addition to Valentine & Yudhi... studying pilot projects is quite helpful to get newer ideas & clues for further researches.
