Am worrking on reconfigurable antenna my question is can i use metamaterials to reconfigure my antenna instead of using pin diodes or metal strip?
Mr Izaz please can you help me with how to buy the pin diode because i have already use it in my simulation software but now my problem is where to buy it so that i can solder it to my own antenna for measurement

Also the specification and size because they usually ask me the specification or model, the one i used in my CST is having R=35ohms L=1x10^-11 and C=0.45x10^-9
Mr adamu, PIN diode ON/off parameters are different, so first study the data sheet of PIN diode
yes i got one data sheet and i go through the data sheet which is quite ok now let me try and buy thanks mr Izaz Ali and Mr Ghanshyam singh
Finally, the problem of soldering is another thing because i can see the size of the pin diode is too tiny even though i can use microscope
But mr Ghanshyam you said they are pasted not soldered thats what confuses me please can i have the guide on how to do that?

My perception is that- by using metamaterial in the viscinty of an antenna, you can induce another resonant mode (modes). But this will not be frequency reconfigurable. Frequency reconfigurability means tuning to different frequency bands by using the same radiating structure. So if you want to get a frequency reconfigurable antenna by using metamaterial, you might need to design reconfigurable metamaterial (which is another topic of research). However, metamaterials are usually narrowband, so making them reconfigurable over a wideband is yet another challenge. Hope it answers your question. Thanks.
