Is obesity more of a problem for people who have faced or are facing food security issues (a lack of daily nutritious food)? The idea is that people who lack appropriate nutrition will go for foods that provide the most calories at the lowest cost, or when they have access to food they tend to overeat i.e. a person who has not had access to food goes to a buffet, and overeats, or a person who grew up eating less food but now has the means to buy more food and now overeats, or a person who was not able to eat certain foods (such as cake and ice cream every day) can now afford to eat them every day.
