Hi, I'm currently working on in vitro study about ferroptosis in triple negative breast cancer cells. I have two cell lines - control MDA MB 231 and one with transcription factor MZF1 downregulated. MZF-1 is supposedly a transcription factor for Ferroportin and GPX4. So I was interested in MZF1's role in ferroptosis. When treated with erastin, cell line with MZF1 downregulated significantly showed more cell death. The problem is, there is not many research papers done about MZF1 and ferroptosis. My ultimate goal was trying to figure out therapeutic ways to target breast cancer cells to die from ferroptosis. Now, I am kinda lost in my direction. Any suggestions to where I should go back and start? I'm really interested in ferroptosis and let me know if there's any good, potential research questions around it that links with cancer.
