Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a method, either analytical or numerical, able to measure the friction force acting on a ball falling in a non-newtonian fluid with a yield stress (the simplest case would be a Bingham plastic, i.e. a newtonian fluid plus a yield stress) in function of the velocity of the ball.

My final goal is to determine the penetration depth of the ball in a non-newtonian fluid (the ball being completely stopped by the yield stress).

Thanks for any contribution !

Sylvain
