I just read a paper where the authors successfully co-electroporate an expressing vector containing the Fgf8 mouse cDNA and an enhancer reporter construct to study the effect of Fgf8 over expression on their enhancer reporter construct in chicken. I need to do something similar as part of my project but I wondered if there is any limitations in using mouse cDNA into chick?
there are no limitations, what you need to do is to find a proper vector, and clone your mouse cDNA into this vector, and then your mouse gene will express in chicken, it is determined by the promoter of the vector. for making constructs, it is very easy.
