I'm considering anti-vibration tables for a sensitive application and was wondering if others have tried anti-vibration mats or pads that don't use compressed air...and, if so, how they match up. My application will be single particle tracking (specifically a NanoSight instrument), but any vibration-sensitive optical system (including confocal microscopy) would have similar requirements. It turns out the eighth floor of a nine-floor building might have a great view on one scale, but somewhat less ideal properties on the nanometer scale! Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.
