Hello,
I´m looking for equipment which can be used for calibration of handheld particle counters with a flowrate of 2,83 l/min. The particle size range is between 0,3 and 10 µm.
Calibration should be done for:
- size calibration
- counting efficiency
- size resolution
- false count rate
If possible i want to do the job with a certified reference instrument and not with a pulse height analyser.
If anyone has suggestions for suitable equipment, feel free to share.

Hello Mr. Senger,
It is common industry practice to calibrate handheld particle counters using a (portable) aerosol generator to atomize PSL reference particles and then compare the device under calibration to a (best-in-class) reference instrument that has recently been calibrated according to ISO 21501-4. You may also need a mixing manifold or dispersion chamber to achieve stable aerosol concentrations.
