Very amazing softwares Rao.....they are computer assisted software design to simulate human tutors behavior, characters and as well interpret complex students responses. It has inbuild dash boards where courses are uploaded, quizzes sessions, real-time discussions, assignment handling points. What is worth about this softwares are that it detects why students performance or understanding has gone way-ward, through the feed back being received, and softwares are able to give hints for improvement. It also has positive boost areas for low level students and that of average students as well. This computer base learning is beneficial to large number of students in a class.
Yes, in my simulation exercises using artificial intelligence which did automatic scoring.

Thank you for your question. Computer based learning programs can have a tutor directing the discussion and asking questions. They also can be in learning communication skills, or in OSCE examinations. We have such technology in medicine. They can be used to complement the curriculum in self-directed sessions.

Yes in most cases where critical thinking is needed to come up with a better solution to a problem.
Thank you for your questions, learning communication with patients in English, for example, can be practised through a CAL program. The design simulates real patients and could help students to practice asking questions (taking medical history) from patients with different diseases. The program at the end could give a mark and provide constructive feedback to students on their performance. There are several advantages here. 1) Students could practice for hours to improve their performance. 2) It is difficult to have that number of real simulated patients and teachers for students to practice and receive feedback. 3) It is more economical and less expensive, compared to having actual patients and teachers. The educational benefit could be equally the same.
