In some countries, exams are applied to test the proficiency of an engineering major graduate? For example, in the US there are two exams:
1) The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE): is taken by recent graduates and students who are close to finishing an undergraduate engineering degree. More info: https://ncees.org/engineering/fe/
2) The Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam: is taken by engineers who have gained a minimum of four years’ post-college work experience. More info: https://ncees.org/engineering/fe/
In my country (Turkey), we do not have similar exams. For government institutions, the engineering candidates are asked to take a general exam (KPSS) consisting of around 120 questions in Turkish language, maths, geometry, history, geography, etc. No questions on engineering subjects.
So my questions are:
1) Do you think engineering proficiency exams are needed? Why? or Why not?
2) Do you have engineering proficiency exams in your country?
3) One or more exam types? If more, what are the differences?
4) What is the content of the exam?

I am also a member of the ASABE and check the updates on a regular basis. So I know the cases regarding the FE, SE and PE exams in the US.
I wanted to know if other countries have similar licensure systems.
I learned that NCEES has some cooperative actions with some other countries including Canada, Egypt, Japan, Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Turkey. https://ncees.org/state-links
Also, in Turkey one university (ITU) organize these exams. But no government institutions ask the candidate if he/she holds FE/SE/PE title as far as I know. So it is not effectively used in practice in Turkey.
So I want to know if other countries except the US particularly European countries, India, China, Russia, and others have similiar engineering licensure systems.
And I want to know how the system is used in these countries.

Here, in Colombia, ICFES, a governmental institution, makes the exams of proficiency in all the pre graduate programs. And, it for some careers the exams are needed to achieve the proffesional license to get a job.
Also, it is a good way to measure quality of the higher education institutions.
The exams are called: "SABER PRO". It is like: "Knowledge professional", more or less.
But, the onlye problem is that they are not mandatory for the graduate, nor all the programs.
