Do electrons flow from the positive end of a battery to the negative end (via a simple series circuit) as we were learned or from the negative end to the positive?
Actually electronics flow from negative end towards the positive , although in our solution for problems, we suppose that current flow from positive side, because The first belief was so. After the truth appearance, the scientists didn't want to change their previous hypothesis of the current flow in solving the questions because it does not affect the results...... Best regards.
electrons move in the opposite direction of the current in the external circuit. so, it is directed away from the negative terminal and towards the positive terminal of the battery.
Ok , I shall speak !!! My first job interview Dr Therib , my then boss asked - "what is current" and immediately I said it is dq/dt ...
For all what i have studied probably this is the best way of writing flow ...
The rate (over time) at which charges (electrons or holes) travel !!!!
Now , coming to direction (again I have story , won't tell :))
I for simplicity will accept the fact that they flow towards a higher potential . Voltage or potential difference is the reason for the flow of current be it electrons or holes ...
