Is the electromagnetic field a separate phenomenon from space?
(Space can exist without an electromagnetic field).
Or is the electromagnetic field an integral part of space?
(Space cannot exist without an electromagnetic field).
By space, I mean the natural environment we are in.

You can have a very very good vacuum at cryo where the only electromagntic fields are related to the thermal noise at that temperature ; see also quantum computing where microwave cavities with single photons are used.
Typically physics assumes that space exists, and the EM field inhabits (and is affected by) the properties of that space: i.e. space can exist without an electromagnetic field.
Every material object is the source of a gravitational field. If it is electrically charged, it is also the source of an electromagnetic field. The description of those fields in space is related to the reference system in which the object is situated.

- that above indeed looks as some questionable passage, as that is indicated in the post “Space or space. Big difference !” – “Space” in physics, i.e. mostly in cosmology, means “Cosmos”; “natural environment we are in” is the [informational] system of particles, bodies, fields, stars, galaxies,… “Matter”; “space” is fundamentally obligatory “empty container” where anything, including Matter, fundamentally obligatorily is placed, exists, and interacts;
- and which for dynamical systems, including Matter, is the component of the corresponding spacetime, in Matter’s case that is the fundamentally absolute, fundamentally flat, and fundamentally “Cartesian”, [4+4+1]4D spacetime with metrics (cτ,X,Y,Z,g,w,e,s,ct), “ct” is the time dimension..
At that in Matter not only “Electromagnetic field” exists and acts, in Matter at least 4 known now fundamental Nature Gravity, Weak, Electric, and Nuclear/Strong forces are known, and at least Gravity, Electric, and Nuclear/Strong act by their “fields”; all that is/are “an integral parts” of Matter, just so Matter is as it is.

Yes, the electromagnetic field is an integral part of space (natural environment). The arrival of light from the sun, movement of the star, season changes due to the effect of the Coriolis force, movement of the cloud, wind, etc., are controlled by the electric and magnetic fields.
