The range of COD and BOD values in the effluent of paper and board mills are approximately between 1200 to 1500 mg/L. It varies time to time and depend upon the main constituents of the raw material used during processing. You can have a look upon the link given below.

COD and BOD of effluent of Paper mills, Its depend upon the recycling process and waste peper quality. If you are using writing paper as raw material and doing one time recycling than it will be around 900 and 300 mg/ltr., and you increase the recycling process of water than it will increase drastically in each recycling step. On the other hand if you are using craft waste paper and using recycling water one time than BOD value will be around 700 mg/ltr and COD around 1600 mg/ltr. and futher recycling of water using more than one time it will incease drastically.
