In general what is efficiency(in %) of high power grid integrated system.Suppose, I generate 50kW from solar photovoltaic array and aim to transfer it to the grid using multilevel voltage source converters.How much losses are allowed in between?Is having efficiency in range of 90-95% acceptable?
The system is better with minimal losses. But the question is not clear are you intending to ask for bench marks for grid integrated system.
The efficiency in grid integrated PV differ with the stages.. The Solar PV will be having different efficiency depending on the type selected at most to 18%. and the power electronic devices can be designed for 95% and above..

Kindly note that 50 kW is power. Do you mean 50 kWh (energy) or 50 kW (power)?
50 kW power would occur at only one specific moment given that the sun's radiation varies all the time.
For a well designed system (minimum losses in cables, transformerless invereter, stable grid frequency/voltage, well ventilated and clean panels, etc...), the overall efficiency of a PV grid tied system would be around 90% of the peak efficiency of the solar PV system in winter and around 80% in summer (when the panels are hot). But these are very general figures and each system produces different outputs. PVs a re almost site specific.
In general higher power systems tend to be more efficient because the proportion of power used to control them is less. Some modern inverters can give over 95% efficiency converting DC to AC. However, if you include a battery management controller in the overall system you may compromise efficiency because you will probably have two conversion steps - one from PV to battery voltage and another from battery voltage to AC.
Actually there are two types of efficiiency calculated at PV grid connected system, the first one depend on the PV module efficiency, which range between 10 to 20 % for the best conditions. The second one depend on the converter and inverter used in the grid system, which arrange between 90 to 98 for both of them.
