How we can calculate a combined efficiency of a process?
e.g. if two compressors are installed, then how can we calculate their combined efficiency?
If compressors, distillation column, turbine etc are included, then how to calculate overall plant efficiency? Thanks.
Will we consider flowrates in these calculations?
the performance of a combined process is the ratio of the practical results to the final theoretical results. in the case of distillation or extraction the yield is the final separated quantity ratio on the initional product composition whatever the combination
Efficiency means different things for different processes and often even varies from person to person, Efficiency of pumps and compressors are usually the ratio of the theoretical amount of work/power required to the actual work/power consumed. Productivity of the process. Energy consumption of the process and environ conditions. etc.The over all efficiency calculated by the individual.
