I have an atomizer unit that releases a mist of water and air. I require the effective material properties (density, viscosity, heat capacity and thermal conductivity) values for a simulation I am running. All bulk material data and particle size for the mist is known.
Is there any empirical equations to calculate the effective properties?
Any help in the subject is appreciated.
Possibly you can try the weighted average method to estimate the density and heat capacity.

How uniform is the air/water mixture? Is the system flowing at the point of interest? You say the particle size is known. The particle size should be polydisperse. Are the sizes changing appreciably because of evaporation, condensation, or agglomeration? What is the time scale of interest?
You have a two-phase system. Some properties will not be simple bulk averages. Flow and boundaries will be important.

I apologize for my late reply. I am not familiar with the mechanics of aerosol or spraying. Looking into your questions was very informative.
I am missing key knowledge for the matter, but for now i will treat my system as an euler-euler mixture (using volume of fluid model).
Is there any reference you could recommend on the matter?
I do not have a particular reference. Perform a search for "dilute particle in gas two phase flow." Search variations of droplet, viscosity, ... will be useful.
The location within the spray pattern will be important if you are near a wall, the nozzle, or within the jet.
