In Denmark, sick leave compensation is handled by social workers in municipal job centres (after a 30 day period paid by the employer). The social worker has to decide if more health examinations must be done, if municipal rehabilitation should be offered, if job training is relevant etc.

We want to stydy, if involving doctors early in this process will speed up case management, rehabilitative efforts, and return to work.

We have not found any previous studies in this field. Can you recommend any studies of relevance?
