Could you tell me what was the reason of bubble generation during EDC/NHS coupling?

I have the same problem with edc/NHS for crosslinking of gelatin. A few seconds after adding solution of EDC/NHS to gelatin solution, air bubbles appear and gelation ocures immediately after that so there is not enough time to remove them. It will be appreciated it if someone with the same experience give me some advise to deal with this problem.
