I have been working on an array of simple rectangular microstrip antenna (not aperture coupled) for dual polarization with dual feed.
I am finding it very hard to make the operating frequency of both polarization the same . The array is a very narrow band and I employed series feed for the array.
checking other papers it seems two operating frequency where one can observe the high resonance for different polarization is slightly different but if the antenna is wideband then only the dual-polarization antenna can claim to work at the same frequency.
can anyone explain why there is a difference in resonance in dual feed dual-polarized antenna? and how to overcome it?

It is little bit difficult to get same frequency for dual polarization, because it is like a reconfigurable kind of antenna. But, as suggested by Dr. Boyuan, It will hopefully work.

The use of polarization diversity in the same antenna and same frequency is a very old story and had been already investigated nearly 50 years ago in particular with special horn antennas. But keeping the level of cross polarization low may really tricky in particular for planar antennae. One nice example is the quadruple ridged (Broadband!) waveguide horn antenna with a dedicated feed for each polarization.
