Draining water from a NAPCO 5400 CO2 incubator?

Has anyone had success siphoning the water out of a NAPCO 5400 stacked set of CO2 incubators? The manual doesn't actually tell you how, but implies that you can siphon water out of the port where you put the water in. I've tried feeding tubing (1/8" OD) into that port, but it only goes in about 5-6". Any thoughts?
