If the same frequency of tuning fork is used for pipes of same length but different material will the loudness differ? For example,if 1 foot one end closed pipe is used for a given frequency in different material like brass , stone, wood, then does the loudness differ with material?
If you would experiment with such pipes of identical dimensions, but different materials and bring the tuning fork in contact with the bottom of the pipe, difference in loudness is to be expected. The main reason will be the transmission of the mechanical vibriation of the fork to the bottom plate of the tube, expressed in the mechanical impedance of the plate. Apart from that, the roughness of the inside of the tube and the loss factor of the material may have some influence.

I do not think of special materials, Anuradha; metals like steel or brass; glass, wood, hard plastic, all in thin sheets are easily excited by a tuning fork.
Most musical instruments based on the principle of mechanical vibration (of strings) have a wooden body: guitar, violin, piano. But in musical instruments it is not only loudness that counts....
