Your question is very interesting and to answer it I would need to determine of which system I were refering to. In my country I would say that it does not influence the student's individual value systems positively. Classrooms are over crowded and the curriculums are designed to prepare students for standardized tests and not to question values and generation of new knowledge.

The school personnel as well as parents should know that parents’ involvement in education of their children positively influences their academic achievement, attitudes and values. when parents are involved in the school, children learn better, get better grades, have more positive attitudes toward school and work and are likely to exhibit more positive behaviours. The implications for involving parents in value education in schools should therefore not be overlooked. Enhancing parents’ involvement in school is also in a way preparing the next generation of parents – those young students in middle and secondary schools to learn about the responsibilities of being a parent.

Dear @Sekar, every educational system should enable students to establish knowledge and skills and apply them in their further education, professional work and everyday life...This is fine, but in practice it very different in my country. Individuals pass through schools, but schools do not pass through students. Many values which you has mentioned dear @Sekar, like ethics, morality, dignity, respect... are not efficiently brought to future citizens. 

So, educational systems need improvement based on society feedback in order to make new curriculum, apply new methods so that mention values MUST be accepted by students.

Today education leeds to globalised opportunities, hence acclamatized perception learning on to cultural adaptations and accepted behavioural norms etc have to be taught for a globalized living.

I think Government should focus on improve of primary education. Primary education is base for nation development.

Hello everyone. My experience is in higher education and specifically in medical education. Our main problem lies in that even a system that promotes education in values does not use instruments to assess whether these are achieved. We have instruments and we must use them. Only if we evaluate the changes in individual value system it will be possible to know the effects of education. And this is a prerequisite to demand education in values in any educational system and in any level of training.

Juan, Thanks for your good insightful answer. Yes, indeed it is true. Education system must enrich values in individuals and the same need to be assessed. Happy to see there is a consensus among many of us in this area and perhaps, it will help for the upcoming generations atleast a bit.
