I am working on SWCNT. After the synthesis of CNT I took Raman analysis by simply leaving material on slide. It gives GD ratio above 50 but when I sonicate it with alcohol to prepare slide, The GD ratio decreased to 20-30. I feel that sonication increases the defect. So kindly help me to solve this problem.
If sonication affects, then what method can I follow to disperse the CNT in solvent to prepare slide?
If No, Why the Ratio is decreasing???
The influence of sonication on the SWNT structures also depends on the properties of the solvent.

Can you suggest me some solvent that I can go with??? Currently I'm using Isopropyl Alcohol.
5ml of isopropyl alscohol and 0.001g of CNT for 5min of bath sonication.
+++ the last answer. Take care that US-probe will introduce some metal contamination, Ti in particular plus some others.
An alternative to a probe sonicator can be Bioruptor; it is a water bath sonicator but a way more powerful than cleaning sonication bathes. Moreover, Biorruptor is successfully used for CNT.
