Dear all, I am currently trying to obtain some DNA material from Anopheles minimus and Anopheles sinensis mosquitoes (males or females) to find out the "real" presence through PCR+Sequencing of a sequence I found bioinformatically (on the genome). Sadly, we don't hold colonies of these mosquitoes here, so I wondered if anyone is willing to send me some mosquitoes (dead or alive, DNA already extracted or not!). Thanks for your help!
To maintain a colony of An. minimus under lab. condition is very difficult, I tried several times but failed.
Because, Breading of An. minimus takes place only in slowflowing treams of clear water.

The MR4 has had An. minimus for years. You will need to be registered with the BEI to receive them, but once you are they are free.

Well I will suggest, as and when you get some population of An minimum try artificial mating following WHO method. An culicifacies required Day & Night facility for mass colonization for cytogenitical & other research. In a curio city I tried artificial mating using wild caught An culicifacies and was successful in the first attempt ... once done... thereafter I had 19 generations with natural mating in my lab, beyond that I did not follow up.
