And to check the results make a lot of tests
Then take avareg
After that you can take core tests

No, it gives an indication of quality of concrete but cannot accurately predict the compressive strength of concrete. Meaning if the RH reading is taken on the zone of mortar you will get different reading at stone different or even behind may be steel bar
No, schmidt hammer test is not reliable. the test results can be used as a reference point. I prefer to use concrete mira (concrete tomography) to check the characterization of existing structure and decide whether the structure needs strengthening or not. However, if you exactly measure the compressive strength i advice to use "windsor probe", this can be more precise than hammer.
