Does koops media supports the growth of Ammonia oxidizing bacteria only? Or other heterotrophic microbes will also grow in the same media? Similarly Watson and Waterbury media supports only NOB bacteria to grow? If so what will be the groups of organisms that can grow in koops media and also in watson and waterbury media?.

the koops media and also the media of Watson&Waterbury supports the growth of the autotrophic ammonia and nitrite oxidizers, respectivly. Some NOB can growth better with a addional C source. During the enrichment of AOB and NOB, the bacteria produce extracellulare substances and they can die and produce also C sources, so that in consequence also heterotrophe organisms can grow in these media.
This is the reason why the classical isolation of nitrifiers needs a long time.
