I am considering NCEP Zonal Wind (UWND) as Observed data and trying bias correction on CFS Reforecast data (as Model data) at corresponding grid points. Now at few grid points the NCEP data has negative timeseries values while Model data has positive timeseries values. Also both timeseries are negatively correlated. Can anyone explain
1) does it make sense to perform bias correction on negatively correlated data,
2) qmap package in R is generating NA's during "fitQmapRQuant" function. Also error message generated by code is as follows:
"Quantile mapping for "Grid number" failed NA's produced."

It is a long time ago already ...
It makes sense to do a bias correction, no matters if the bias is negative or positive.
