Football is one of the most popular and developed types of sports over time. It is a means of coexistence between peoples and individuals despite political tensions between political systems, and is capable of bringing about positive change in society and its behaviors.
The 'power' of any sport to promote peace and integration highly depends on how that sport is actually deployed. Sports themselves are hardly neutral constructs, and many of them come with heavy social, cultural and historical baggage. Sports like cricket and rugby, for example, are intimately tied to colonialist history.
Football meanwhile can easily be connected to things like capitalism, sexism and exclusion. Players of colour in Europe are often confronted with racist comments and acts from fans or other players, as are minority players elsewhere (e.g. Muslims playing in Israel). Different genders and sexual orientations have also historically not been welcome within formalised footballing structures, as evidenced by the near-complete absence of openly LGBTQ male footballers.
Unless these traits are dealt with, though, my suspicion is that football cannot contribute to meaningful, sustained 'national integration'
Definitely yes. Football is a public game with many many fans pursue the matches. It is through understanding that competition between different football teams is constructed on intact base with no overexpression of feelings if conquered or defeated the team they encourage, and watch the game without any brutality but with pure passions towards the competing teams.

In Argentina there is too much passion but also fanatism, we won the world Cup so nobody cares about the political and economical situations. The Govt always has used it to manipulated people.
