Does E.coli DH5alpha really don’t have antioxidants with DPPH 0.2mM?

Since I have seen the journal use E.coli DH5alpha with DPPH 0.2mM as negative control. but in my experiment, it doesn’t show that is negative. So I would to ask that “does e.coli DH5alpha is negative control in DPPH 0.2mM?”
