We're building an evidence base for both positions (pro and against) the increased uptake of big data tools in development. Would love to know your thoughts or any data you have that supports either position
This seems too broad. Would prefer some kind of boundary/context for discussion. For example, what is meant by "big data tools"? Do you consider Tabelau a big data tool or Hadoop?
Thanks Dennis Mazur . In my experience the "data guy/gal" is usually a sole data scientist and their numbers increase with team size. But they're almost always a small part of the team, would their expertise still allow them to lead the discussion (the way they should)?
Daqing Chen , my mistake. Narrowing it down probably would help. But I think Tableau, and the like, would call themselves as part of the big stack. I'm only mildly technical so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
If you use it and if the team like to work with it yes!! Big data tools can absolutely make the life of the employee very easy. One example is the virtual chat boot.
