Thanks for your question. We're into work motivation, looking at the impact of fit between work-related preferences and actual job demands on both work effort (i.e. the outcome of work motivation) and positive and negative affect. We adopted a week-level approach and obtained some interesting results. We're going to expand that approach and any sort of co-operation would be highly welcome.

I study emotions and motivation, specifically: Subjective, empathy-based guilt (like survivor guilt in daily life, feeling responsible for other's happiness beyond what is realistic etc) and altruism as a fundamental primary (often non-conscious) motivation. We have a very well used measure "The interpersonal guilt questionnaire" and a measure of "compassion altruism." Hi, Jeff, I study the cognitive foundations of collaboration and apply my findings to the design of new collaborative work systems and new collaboration technologies. In the course of that work, we've had to develop Yield Shift Theory to explain the onset, direction, and magnitude of some affective responses we were observing in the field. We're currently theorizing to explain observed correlations between affective responses, motivation, and performance. The preliminary logic suggest that there is not a causal relationship between motivation and emotion, but rather that both affective responses and motivation may emerge the same set of underlying cognitive mechanisms. I'd be pleased to discuss the progress we've made so far and to share the the theories of motivation we've found in the literature.
