The journal “Annals of Clinical and Medical Case Reports” (ISSN: 2639-8109) is included in the updated version of the stand-alone journal version of the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net/standalone-journals/#update ) this is a warning sign and there are more red flags:
-Contact info 500 N. Rainbow Blvd, Suite 300, Las Vegas, Nevada 89107 USA renders a virtual office address (so they hide their real origin)
-The ridiculous sounding phrase at the bottom of the page (https://acmcasereport.com/about-us.php ) stating “… is an esteemed and zealous in publishing various scientific and medical journals which acts as a shell that provides latest research information for all the researchers across the world…” is the same used by United Prime Publications (UP) (http://untdprimepub.com/about-us/ ) and they use the same address. This strongly seems to suggest that the same people are behind it
-No surprise that the publisher “United Prime Publications” is mentioned in the updated version of the potential predatory publisher Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net/#update )
-The PubMed logo used on the homepage is misleading since they are not indexed. The abuse the policy of PubMed to index papers where at least one of the authors receive a NIH grant. This is regardless the journal where the paper is published in. See also:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/about/public-access-info/ this misleadingly suggestion that the journal is a PubMed indexed journal is something that is often used by predatory journals.
you can check if the journal is listed in reputable databases such as the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), PubMed, or Scopus. These databases have stringent criteria for including journals and can be a good indicator of a journal's legitimacy.
