I agree too: the divided podonotal shield is also a highly unusual character, and I know of that only in some Rhodacaridae. In Dave Walter's key to Mesostigmata it's characteristic of the genus Minirhodacarellus. Check it out in the following link:
I've also seen some Rhodacarus with this character, such as Rhodacarus roseus Oudemans, so I wouldn't be too quick to apply a genus name from the above information. The family Rhodacaridae, though, seems a safe bet.
I agree too. The mite belongs to Rhodacaridae. I think you can check Lee, D.C. 1970 paper about The Rhodacaridae. Also Reham, I et al where you could find a key to the species from the Mediterranean region.
