I am sure they can do it, since the species has good mobility on the ground and is sometimes spotted walking from a temporary freshwater pond to another. I am looking especificaly for C. crocodilus yacare that occurs in South America. However, it is being surprisingly difficult to find published records. Anedotical records are relatively common among local people where we can find the species, such as in the Pantanal wetland from western Brazil.
