I am doing the postbuckling analysis of composite plates using ABAQUS. I have made plate from shell element and have assigned the composite layup of four layers to the plate. I want to provide the material non-linearity in the plate, i.e., upgradation (or modificaion) of stiffness when stresses in layers exceeds the strength of plate. Is there any possibility to write a code in MATLAB which include strength and stiffnesses of plate and the link this code with ABAQUS (Like in FORTRAN)?

Thanks for reply. Actually I am doing iterations, i.e., load will be applied in incremental steps. Based upon load, I have to update the stiffness matrix in matlab, after failure of layer. Let's say if matlab save file in each iteration, then again question arises how to link matlab with ABAQUS?
