Does anyone know a specific inhibitor for L-type calcium channel subunit alpha1(c) ?

I am looking for a specific inhibitor that blocks L - type calcium channel subunit alpha1 in hippocampal neurons. I was thinking of Verapamil or Amlodipine, but have so far no experience with these inhibitors and do not know which other systems might also be affected.

Hi Nils,

the best is you use dihydropyridines, like isradipine (most potent) or nifedipine (most used). You will inhibit both Cav1.2 and Cav1.3 (less abundant) in your neurons.
