Download Cartosat DEM version 3R1 from Bhuvan portal (http://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/data/download/index.php). These tilewise (1°×1°) DEM also contains waterbody shapefile but without the name in the attribute table. For entire India, all shapefiles with 1°×1° extends have to be merged.
