I'm looking specifically for the growth conditions i.e. on what substrate to grow the bacteria (preferably something that mimics a high fiber diet), for how long to grow in order to induce fermentation, and most importantly does anyone know of a simple assay I can do to verify that there's no electron acceptors in the growth medium

Simple and low cost culture medium based on cane sugar ( 2.5% p/v ) and yeast extract ( 1% p/v ) has been used in the production of this probiotic. The fermentative conditions were a) pH control at 6.5 and b) no pH control: both were set at 37oC IN A 12 L slightly stirred tank bioreactor. Fermentation parameters such as the specific growth rate, productivity and yield of biomass, lactic acid and acetic acid levels were determined. In recent years , there has been considerable intrest in the use of probiotic organisms and organic acids as alternatives to antibiotics in feed to reduce antibiotics residue in carcasses. The key factors, temperature and pH should be optimized under anaerobic conditions , and the two-stage pH and or temperature control technologies should also be applied.
