We have recently started to work with a self-constructed, low-temperature MFM based on piezoelectric cantilevers. The first tests we have performed look quite good, even though we had serious problems concerning the mounting of the cantilevers to a cantilever holder and the driving piezo.
The ones we have are from SII Nanotechnology in Japan, while we also have
tested some from Nascatec. Germany. The last ones mentioned only work to
about 100 K, then the signal is freezing out. It would be great to share
the experiences.
