Also, please note that in the handbook, "None" is also described as "None or Minimal", "Low" is also described as "Low to Moderate", "Moderate" it also described as "Moderate to Severe" and "Severe" is also described at "Severe to Extreme"...However, I feel it is more simple to use None, Low, Moderate and Severe
Thank you for sharing the book, although I already had it and it has no explanation regarding scoring the questionnaire! I actually need the full manual.
*The Childhood Trauma Questionnaire. From Pennebaker, J.W. & Susman, J.R. (1988). Disclosure of traumas and psychosomatic processes. Social Science and Medicine, 26, 327-332. A brief survey of 6 early traumatic experiences (death, divorce, violence, sexual abuse, illness, or other) and ratings of the degree to which individuals confided the traumas. There is no psychometric information available for this questionnaire. The items are face valid. There is no scoring key for this questionnaire. You can score it any way that you like. Feel free to change the items in any way you prefer. Go ahead and translate it into any language. You do not need my permission to use this.

Hello, does anyone know if you can calculate a total (i.e. global maltreatment) score on the CTQ instead of just the subscales? Don't have a manual to verify this. Thanks!
I know this is an old thread, but i am looking for reliability data in the CTQ. Does anybody have this that can share with me or know where I can access this as a student?
Do you know if there is reliabilty data that they have from the norm group? I’m working on a critique of the original assessment. I thought that might be in the manual
To add to the discussion: The attached paper describes binomial cutoff scores for each of the sub-scales, validated by comparison with a blinded clinical interview (sensitivity and specificity > 0.85 for each).
IDear i am from Pakistan and doing PhD in Psychology I want to use Child Trauma Questionnaire in my research for this purposeIi have to translate it in Urdu language. i need need permission, Any one can guide me
Try to get in touch with the authors of the paper i shared in earlier post. Since the study was done in Pakistani’s population, i am sure it was translated.
