Business, operational and currency risks are all involved by dieselgate...You should only collect articles on newspaper dealing with this topic and probably you will be the first to create a case study on risk (mis)management in Volwswagen. Considering that most part of the key automotive companies are public companies in the US (so subject to SEC) you may also.focus on risk management by using Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
This gives a good framework to start with a first financial approach but very related to operational and other risks
