To date, there are some technical problems being experienced with the testing of autonomous cars on public roads (specifically, Nevada's roads). Those I wish to discuss here deal with inclement weather issues, dealing with variable road conditions (rural, poorly marked/mapped, road work, etc) and with human traffic direction. If a Northern tier state that offers the test scenarios mentioned above were to allowed testing similar to what is done in Nevada, I wonder how much that environment would be utilized?
