Snakes are found on every continent (except Antarctica). Many snakes can cause injury or death to livestock, and treatment depends on the type of animal bitten and its sensitivity to that particular snake’s venom. Snakes can travel to areas where livestock are reared. Even they can hibernate in livestock sheds during extreme weather conditions.

Snakes can cause death to livestock as well as animals reared as pets (dogs, cats etc). If bitten animals have to be treated according to the reptile species too. I have not seen any evidence to suggest that snakes avoid areas where livestock live.
