The reference (below), from New Zealand, provides a systematic approach to the subject. However, the picture is not always bright & rosy because some organizations try to escape from covering the cost of health & safety of employees if it is heavy. At a certain university, an old worker was injured by a piece of glass in the campus & his leg was amputated. The worker asked the help of the university to buy an artificial leg but the administration refused. He sued the university but to no avail. At the end, a foreign charity group financed the cost. He retired from the university & never visited it again because it was for him "an organization of injustice".

Safety of employees in their working place is mandatory to the employer. People couldn't join their working place with the fear to be injured or be in weak health, and in the same time make good results and best performance. An employer with no care and consciousness on the health and safety of its employees is a criminal. Serious institutions organize and run health and security committees who have twice meeting per year to check if every thing is OK and to get solutions for a better professional environment
