I suggest that you visit: www.sciencedirect.com often with your rephrased topic sentence for a couple of related research papers in the same field with constructive and innovative ideas on the way forward.
With your student account you have free access through Uppsala university to download as many as possible that are related and feasible. I think this is the way to do and that is exactly what i am doing as well. It had seem to be working pretty good.
