invitation to collaborate on research
I have a plan to work on new traits definition for genetic evaluation of fertility traits. I do not have access to an accurate data for this work in my home country. In case anyone are interested to collaborate with us in this project, will be my co-author in any publication stem from this research.
Today, the longest period of use of cows is registered at the level of 9 calving - Sysuev, Vasilenko, Rusakov, 2017
A company in the UK called Genus who work with all aspects of the dairy cow, especially fertility should be able to help you. It is a big issue in dairy cattle and lifetime production.
The Dutch have been also working with it for a lot of years and identified genes which are connected with fertility. Consequently young bulls are selected genomically, for likely positivety in this trait before they are progeny tested. I was a dairy farmer for 40 years milking 150 cows . Try contacting the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding (http://uscdcb.com/). They assumed service responsibilities for calculating and distributing genetic evaluations and genomic predictions, managing data storage, and analyzing and distributing dairy cattle data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
