Does anyone have a working solution to the mirroring of the front facing camera output in OpenCV?

I am developing an app for Android and have the tutorial program for face detection working on the front facing camera but it mirrors the output. The solutions that I have found so far are either unstable or ineffective.

It doesn't seem to be properly working with the face-detect (more changes are needed), but as a start a

Core.flip(mRgba, mRgba, 1);

as the second to last line in onCameraFrame() seems to at least flip the preview properly.
