I am designing my dissertation research. I am exploring nursing leadership education. I am planning on using a qualitative questionnaire, but am having trouble finding an instrument, and the one's that I have fond I have not been able to obtain permission from the authors. I am reaching out to see if anyone has a questionnaire instrument that I could use for my qualitative descriptive study. Thanks for any help.
Nearly all qualitative studies generate their own instrument, in order to match both their research topic and their particular set of participants. But, if you are simply looking for an example, then I recommend you look at interviewing books, such as Rubin & Rubin, Hearing Data.

Of the basic tenets of qualitative research is to develop your own guide based on your philosophical and theoretical approaches. I suggest thinking about what you want to explore based on your readings and underpinned philosophy and go from there. If you want to use a questionnaire, then this would be more like a mixed method research!! Good luck with your project

Different methods are used in qualitative research. The most common are interviews, focus group discussions, observational methods and document analysis. Combining two or more data collections methods, for instance interviews as well as focus group. So I recommended you to use these instrument
Qualitative study is that the researcher intends to explore something and eventually might come up with a model in the end, not the other way around. Actually, you should ‘bracket up’ any pre- occupied ideas you have in order not to influence your viewpoint and perception. Thus, you cannot use any instrument that is meant for a quantitative study.
There are no specific qualitative research instruments. Instead, we use a variety of qualitative methods for data collection. Data triangulation using different approaches in data collection is best for qualitative data. Similar to quantitative data, whichever method you use for qualitative data collection still need to ensure validity and reliability data.
Keep in mind that qualitative research just superficially concerns the use of instruments (interviews, photos, diaries, etc.) or the application of a specific methods. Rather, first and foremost, qualitative research is a way of looking at the world and at knowledge & science, through interpretative, relational, critical, and subjective lenses. As Connie Fisher famously said, "Doing qualitative research is not using words instead of numbers!" Rather, it entails developing an epistemological and ontological awareness of what we are doing as researchers.

First,what is your research objective?You should have a main question then with that you can do probing.There is no exact research instrument for qualitative because if you prepared a set of questions to follow for your participants then it might become bias.Of course what is your philosophical underpinning?Read Creswell or Polit book on this study,that is my piece of advise.
