I need use a practical aggregated DFIG wind farm in my project, but I can't know how to use. I wouldn't know if total active and reactive power must be per unit or individual active and reactive power must be per unit?
You can use the DFIG model in DIgSILENT Powerfactory. You will find many examples there or even try designing your project from the simulation library.
In my understanding, if active and reactive power from individual units are considered in per unit, then the total from all units aggregated automatically gets accounted in per unit !!
Is your question something more specific than that ? Please explain, in case I am missing anything...
I take it that the wind turbine driven generators are all connected in parallel to the bus, at which they feed power into the network. (This is a common configuration, so please let us know in case this is not so.)
With the parallel connected generators, the voltage signal will have the base value common to all of them, while the volt-ampere base will be the sum total of individual base VA values.
Does that answer your question ? Or have I missed something ??
Thanks , if we use sum total of individual base VA values, calculated current and flux are in per unit that will apply to controler of the wind turbine and flow to the rotor, how much rotor current in this way?????? which base VA base Must use???
Depends on the exact way you propose to control the generators.
If you are controlling each independently (which is the most common case), then they will all use a common voltage base, but the individual rated VA as respective VA bases.
If you are controlling all of them together, then with the same voltage base, you will be using the overall VA base which I mentioned in my earlier reply.
In between the two extremes, you can divide the generators into groups and control each group separately. In such a case, we will need to consider the group VA bases, calculated in a manner similar to the overall VA base.
Does that clarify the doubt ? (Please do feel free to discuss further if required.)
I control all of them together with software, I have full aggregated wind farm in per unit. and I must design controler for wind farm and test it. I want to apply control signal to wind turbine individually and the signal is per unit, What does signal multiply if I have current signal control?
In that case, the design will be a lot simple if you use the total VA base. But please do it with some care, because the control input will have to be generated for individual generators.
